Article: creating a new measurement of wealth; NEO GDP. The interregnum divide today between financial and human wealth is broad and deep. Can we bridge that gap and devise a 21st Century Technology & Human Capital NEO Economic System before it’s too late?
Today we value the worth of America by GDP financial values alone. We must measure by Human value as well
Steven Monahan,NEO GDP
The 21 Century is complex. Changes in old ways must happen as we move forward into the 21st technological age. For today’s new age, we must also create a new GDP measurement, replacing a two-hundred-year-old industrial age measurement of a country’s wealth. A more intelligent, conscious, caring, and inclusive partnership way to measure what we produce and spend our financial, natural, and human capital on?. We all know that what we measure we generally achieve. We believe how we measure GDP needs to be updated. We need a New matrix for measuring GDP. NEO GDP.
Creating a new measurement of wealth NEO GDP
Today we measure our wealth as a Nation by GDP, Gross Domestic Product. We use financial, but not human worth indicators of wealth. We measure money generated and spent on war, bombs, missiles tanks, oil spills, natural disasters, and cleanup. In GDP we measure and value the financial value of addictive pharma drugs and tobacco that harms not value life. We measure the Incarceration of millions of our population. We measure and therefore value that which harms and devalues life, not uplifts and makes life worth living.
We measure GDP material value but diminish the Human value of raising children, and feeding the poor and homeless in America. We must value our water, soil, earth, animals, and one another as much as money in our society
I am hopeful and live in awe & wonder of life each day. And many today walk the path to creating a better 21st Century Economic System. Yet, the interregnum today is broad and deep. It feels like time is running out to cross from the old to the new. We need curious, open conversations like this TEDx talk from Riana Eisler.
