Human Know Thy Self

Human Know thy Self

Human Know Thy Self is the call to knowing oneself by breaking your own chains of ignorance, freeing yourself from the allegorical cave, and crawling your way out of your subconscious darkness into the sunlight of knowledge of the highest Consciousness. It is not about you as a doing, but it is about you as a being.

There is no one right or final answer to this call. We receive the call but can answer it only at our current level of Arete, Knowledge, and Consciousness. Each year your answer should change if you live a curious life and seek the good in yourself and your fellow humans.

Know Thy Self is written above the door of the Oracle of Delphi. It is one of 147 statements on living a full and good life.

We know ourselves by seeking knowledge. The Greeks called it Arete. One must have an both an open and curious mind. We have to learn when to follow the thinking of our brain, and when to follow the wisdom of our internal guide. And then know when to act and when to be non-reactive.

Here is a Verse from the Tao Te Ching written 2500 years ago. The Tao Te Ching has been printed in more languages than any other book of knowledge except the Bible.

This verse when grasped will teach you how to both act and non-act. Let’s call it when and how to get into the “Zone” and flow with the energy of Life and your inner guide and when to go with your thinking, your outer guide.
